Pretty damned awesome, and sad.

Yep, that was pretty sweet. Though I am beginning to wonder if every single episode is gonna start with some kids.

Not too bad at all, though rather less than the sum of its parts by the end. Still, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan were impressive from the off - the scene just after leaving the TARDIS, with the Doctor talking about secret police and the glass of water, was beautifully executed and a real highlight of the episode. I felt the ending was a little bit rushed but liked how the Doctor was faced with a very difficult decision that wasn't immediately deus-ex-machina'd out of his hands. On the strength of the first two episodes alone I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the season.
