The Development of TARDIS Technology
NOTE: All events in this section of the timeline are based on the year of the Doctor's looming/birth.
-1,300,000 to -10,000?
The Type 30 is created.
-1,300,000 700,000 to -10,000?
The Type 35 is created.
-1,300,000 to -10,000?
The Type 39 is created. It is very similar to the Type 40.
-1,300,000 to -10,000?
Before The Doctor graduates TARDISes are designed to be male or female. They can telepathically communicate with their operators.
-8000 (Date is based on the following facts: The retired Salyavin is a boy when the Type 40 is created, the TARDIS is due for its 3000 year checkup when the Doctor is 749, and the Doctor's TARDIS is well over 5000 years old by the time of the series)
Three hundred and Five Type 40 (Mark I) TARDIS are created. At this point Time Lord engineers are a little more innovative in designing TARDISes. The Doctor's newly registered Type 40 TARDIS instantly knew that it was superior to the other TARDISes and quickly developed a reputation among the Time Lords and other TARDISes of being a disobedient renegade.
-9,000 to 0?
The first use of the TARDIS Recall Circuit occurs.
-7000?
Not long after the Type 40 is introduced, the Record of Rassilon is no longer placed in TARDISes.
-5000?
The Type 45 (Mark II) TARDIS is created.
-300~
The Type 40 is classified as a Veteran and Vintage Vehicle.
0
The Doctor is loomed/born.
200?
While the Doctor is at the Academy the Type 30's become fashionable as collector items. The Time Lords try upgrading some Type 30 TARDISes to Mark III status. The Type 35 is particularly prized. At this point Type 18s can still be found in operational condition.
236
The Doctor begins flying his Type 40 TARDIS.
309?
All Type 40s are de-registered and made non-operational
350?
The Doctor steals his Type 40 TARDIS and leaves Gallifrey.
370?
Shortly after the Doctor leaves the Master steals his Type 45 Mark II TARDIS.
380?
Fifty years after the Doctor leaves, Mortimus (a.k.a. the Monk) steals a state of the art Mark IV TARDIS. The Mark IV incorporates the most successful of the previous models.
389? An Unearthly Child: The first Doctor Who TV episode takes place.
448?
The Tenth Planet: The Doctor regenerates into his second body.

Planet of the Spiders: The Doctor regenerates into his fourth body.
755?
The Doctor upgrades his Type 40 Mark II TARDIS to Mark VI specifications.
756?
By this time the Mark IX TARDIS is created. The Mark IX is state of the art. The Type 706 TTC is considered to be a modern TARDIS.

953
Time and the Rani: The Doctor regenerates into his seventh body.
998-1132?
The Type 98 TARDIS is invented. It has a holographic scanner.
1001?
The Doctor upgrades his Type 40 TARDIS to Mark X specifications.
1009

1132?
TARDISes are accepted as weapons of war. Military Elite Technician Nivet, the finest technician in the Kasterborous Quadrant, maintains these new War TARDISes.
1132?
The Type 94 War TARDIS is created.
1151
The Shadows of Avalon: A former human member of the Remote named Compassion is transformed into the first Type 102 TARDIS. This happens because her Receiver is fed enough Block-Transfer signals from the Doctor's Type 40 TARDIS so that her basic structure changes. The Type 102 has a Personality Matrix and Identity Circuits, which make her capable of communicating directly with three-dimensional beings (such as Humans) as well as five-dimensional beings (such as TARDISes). Type 102s can also freeze people in stasis fields and have interiors strong enough to withstand a thermonuclear blast. This new model will be the mother of the first Type 103 TARDIS.
1151
The War with the Enemy begins.
1151
The Type 103 TARDIS will be created.
The infant Event carries the race memories of its parents. Thus each TARDIS is more experienced and knowledgeable then the last. Some Space-Time Events are stillborn.
Immediately after conception Dwarf-Star-Alloy tools are used to tear the infant Space-Time Event from its mother. It is held trapped in a Pan-Dimensional Dwarf-Star-Matter Honeycomb at Gallifrey's Neural Construction Docks until it has developed a Block-Transfer connection to the Eye of Harmony and an Extra-Dimensional Framework (a.k.a. the Metastructure).
Infant Space-Time Events are placed in a Hyper-Loom for the first 11 years of their life. The Hyper-Loom uses nano-knives to alter the Metastructure of the Event. This process makes the Event dependent on the Symbiotic Nucleus of a Time Lord for its ability to travel in the Vortex. Once the young Event has formed a Symbiotic Link and developed a strong sense of servitude towards the Time Lords it is transferred to a Dimensionally Transcendental Cradle.
The "baby" Capsule is placed in a Dimensionally Transcendental Cradle to mature. These Cradles have Dimensional Engines on the inside to hold the Birthing Wombs. The Outer Event-Shell has a Dimensional Barrier. Hyper-Anchors are used to keep the Cradle fixed in the Space-Time Continuum while feeder ducts supply Artron energy to the infant.
?
The Time Lords will mate Marie (a Type 103) with a male Type 105 TARDIS. This will be one of the first successful crossbreeding attempts.
?
The Type 105 War TARDIS will be in use. They will be the most essential and useful weapons the Time Lords have in the War.
