This category is for characters who are considered companions of the Doctor.

Definition of Companion

A companion is generally considered to be a character who travelled in the TARDIS for at least two consecutive adventures. In addition, characters who served as the Doctor's official assistant during his time with UNIT and the core UNIT cast (The Brigadier, Sergeant Benton and Mike Yates) are considered companions.

Exceptions

Certain characters have had widespread acceptance as companions even though they do not meet the criteria laid out above. Katarina and Sara Kingdom are in this category.
