The Last Great Time War was a war between the Time Lords and the Daleks. It may or may not be the same war as the War in Heaven seen in the Eighth Doctor novels and the Faction Paradox spin-off. For the purposes of this Wiki, we will assume that the two are separate conflicts.

Background
It is unclear precisely when the Last Great Time War began relative to the history of the Time Lords or of the Daleks[3] What we do know is that the Daleks were one of the few races who ever developed time travel technology to rival that of the Time Lords[4] It is also known that the Daleks disappeared from history in order to fight this war.[5]
Battles
We do not know how many battles took place between the two sides or how long the war lasted, if such a statistic makes any sense. We do know that the Doctor was present at the fall of Arcadia.[6] There is evidence that the Nestene Consciousness lost its food stock of protein planets during the war.[7] In general, however, the war was invisible to "lesser species" and yet devastating to "higher forms".[8]
Conclusion
The war ended in the almost total destruction of both the Time Lords and the Daleks. During the final battle, Gallifrey was destroyed, reduced to burning rock.[9] The Dalek fleet was wiped out in a single second. Thanks to the Doctor, all ten million ships burnt.[10]
Consequences
With the Time Lords gone, there are a number of changes to the nature of the universe. Without their intervention, the Reapers are able to break into the universe to clean up paradoxes in their preferred manner.[11] Also, travel to Parallel Universes is now only possible in exceptional circumstances.[12]
Survivors
The following individuals and groups survived the end of the Time War:
- The Doctor[13]
- The Master[14]
- The Last Dalek[15]
- The Emperor Dalek[16]
- The Cult of Skaro[17]
