The Third Doctor

The Third Doctor has white hair, a large nose, and tends to dress as a society dandy. He has a love of technology, historical name-dropping, and vehicles. In The War Games the Doctor's people (the Time Lords) sentenced him to exile on Earth. In Spearhead from Space, he was appointed as scientific advisor to UNIT. In The Three Doctors the Time Lords revoked his exile.

Sarah Jane Smith

Sarah Jane Smith is a journalist who, in The Time Warrior, sneaked into UNIT in search of a story. She ended up accompanying the Doctor on a trip to the middle ages. She has subsequently joined the Doctor on his travels.

Recurring and Historical Characters

An Ice Warrior

The Ice Warriors are natives of the planet Mars. In The Ice Warriors the Doctor prevented a ship of them from wiping out a human base trying to hold back glaciers. In The Seeds of Death, he prevented them from invading Earth. in The Curse of Peladon, the Doctor wrongly suspected the Ice Warriors of attempting to sabotage Peladon's attempt to join the Galactic Federation by attempting to kill one of the other delegates from the Federation.

Alpha Centurai

Alpha Centurai is a hermaphrodite hexapod. in The Curse of Peladon he/she was one of the Federation delegates whose job was to decide whether Peladon should be admitted to the Galactic Federation or not. She helped the Doctor prevent opponents on both sides from sabotaging Peladon's entry.

Aggedor

Aggedor is the legendary monster of Peladon. The species is now very rare, and they are woshipped as gods by the people of Peladon. In The Curse of Peladon, the Doctor tamed one using a combination of a device and singing a venusian lullaby.

This is a direct sequel to The Curse of Peladon, and there are several plot points that call back to the original story.
